"Color Run" -mdecker

Here's Jen last weekend in the Mooresville 5k Color Fun Run.  She won 2nd in her age group and, I'm sure, was the only one running at 20 weeks pregnant.

Aperture

Magnolia Blossom - Cary

Olympus E-3 w/ 12-60mm @ 60 mm, 1/80 sec @ f/22, ISO 100

Had trouble finding a good subject to showcase aperture but this magnolia blossom, which I might normally want to isolate with a shallow depth of field, seemed to look better with everything in focus - so a deep depth of field it is.

Domino Effect - mdecker
Finally thought of something that fit the category.

mdecker -  I'm curious if anyone is interested in doing a multi-picture poster (a photo for each line) based on the following Primary song:
My Heavenly Father Loves Me
Whenever I hear the song of a bird (photo of a bird)

Or look at the blue, blue sky, (photo of sky)

Whenever I feel the rain on my face (photo of rain or face)

Or the wind as it rushes by, (?)

Whenever I touch a velvet rose (photo of rose)

Or walk by our lilac tree, (photo of lilac)

I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world (?)

Heav'nly Father created for me. (photo of me)

A Living Moment

mdecker - How many older sisters will read X-Men books to their younger brother?  This was cute enough that I thought it would make a good picture for this week's topic.

Airport Homecoming - Cary

Olympus E-3 w/ 12-60mm @ 27mm, f/3.5 @ 1/50 sec, ISO 800

Matthew came home from his first year at BYU this past weekend.  This escalator shot was the only one that turned out well enough to post.  I had to fiddle with the white balance because the fluorescent lights below did not match the natural light hitting Benjamin from the side.  Tough to get them properly balanced.

Next Photo Challenge: Aperture

Take a photo where the choice of aperture (wide open, stopped down or somewhere in between) leads to the main element or impact of the image (shallow or deep depth of field, star points of light, etc.)
