Limited Palette

"Spring Flowers" - Mike
50 mm, f/5, 1/2000 sec., ISO 200

"Rain" - Matt
It rained just in time to wet this daffodil before my shot. I played around with the lighting to try to keep it from being flat and boring.
1/350sec, 42mm, f/9.5

"Primary Colors" - Cary
My five-year-old nephew James recently asked his father (my brother Chris, the photography professor), "Dad, is orange a Primary color?" "No," Chris told him. James then responded with, "Oh, is it a Priesthood color then?"

SouthernShots Weekly Challenge
Theme: Limited Palette
Due: 23 March 2011

Explanation: Ansel Adams and many others have proven that some pictures just look better in monochrome. But its also true that images can be striking when they have a limited number of colors. For this week's challenge, compose (or post-process) your shot such that it includes a very limited number of colors - say 3 or 4 max.

Happy shooting!

Cary
