Diptych or Triptych

A Diptych (pronounced "DIP-tik") is a work of art divided into two sections. A Triptych (pronounced "TRIP-tik") is divided into three sections, usually with one section being larger and the other two smaller. The concept is to take two or three pictures that compliment each other and arrange them next to each other to create a nice composition.

I was intrigued by the time-lapse category, but didn't have time to try it out. This week, I thought I'd combine time-lapse with the triptych.

"Spring is in the Air" - Cary
For those of you who have recently departed the South, this post is to remind you of what you're missing: Spring is here in Vicksburg! The tulip trees, daffodils and Bradford pear blossoms are all out and although we've certainly got a few overnight freezes left yet, the beauty of the South is about to burst forth over the next several weeks and months. February through May is a magical time in Mississippi - there's something new blooming every week!

"Frog Boots" - Mike
Kirsten loves her frog boots. Since it has been wet and gray recently, I thought it would be fun to take some pictures of her in her boots with an umbrella. The daffodils added a nice accent.
